SO DENTAL + ARISE SLEEP
So Dental is now partnering with Arise Sleep Health to bring clinical sleep diagnosis to your home.
Waking up tired shouldn’t be your "normal." If you struggle with loud snoring, morning headaches, or daytime fatigue, the first step to recovery is a professional diagnosis.
Through our new partnership with Arise Sleep Health, So Dental now offers a seamless, at-home diagnostic service that bridges the gap between identifying a sleep disorder and receiving world-class dental treatment.

What is Sleep Apnea?
Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) is a serious condition where your airway partially or completely collapses while you sleep. This stops your breathing momentarily, forcing your brain to "wake" you just enough to gasp for air—a cycle that can repeat hundreds of times a night.
Common Red Flags:
-
Loud Snoring: Often interrupted by gasping or choking sounds.
-
Daytime Fatigue: Feeling exhausted even after a full 8 hours of sleep.
-
Morning Headaches: A common sign of restricted oxygen flow during the night.
-
Health Risks: Untreated OSA is linked to high blood pressure, heart disease, and daytime "brain fog."
Treatment: The Modern Alternative to CPAP
If your sleep study confirms mild to moderate sleep apnoea, you may not need a bulky CPAP machine. At SO Dental, we specialize in Mandibular Advancement Splints (MAS).
These are custom, 3D-printed oral appliances that gently hold your jaw forward to keep your airway open while you rest.
-
Comfortable: Slimline design with a precise, digital fit.
-
Silent: No hoses, straps, or machine hum.
-
Travel-Friendly: Fits easily in your bag for work or holidays.
Note: To be eligible for a MAS appliance, patients typically require at least six lower teeth.

A More Comfortable Way to Sleep
Traditional treatments for sleep apnoea often involve bulky CPAP machines, hoses, and noisy motors that can disrupt both your sleep and your partner's. At So Dental, we offer a more refined, non-invasive alternative. Our custom-made Mandibular Advancement Splints are 3D-printed from high-quality medical nylon, providing a slimline fit that is tailored specifically to your anatomy. There are no straps or machines—just a discreet appliance that allows you to breathe naturally and move freely throughout the night.
Expert Clinical Collaboration
Your health deserves a multi-disciplinary approach. While we specialize in the dental treatment of snoring and sleep apnoea, we work closely with Sleep and Respiratory Physicians to ensure your care is medically sound. Every Arise Sleep Study performed through our clinic is formally reviewed by these specialists. This collaboration ensures that your diagnosis is accurate and that the treatment provided is the safest, most effective pathway for your specific needs.

WHAT TO EXPECT
A Simplified Path to Restorative Sleep
Your diagnostic journey begins with a quick booking through our Arise partner portal. Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study?
You can start the process directly through SO Dental. While traditional sleep labs often require a long waiting list and a specialist referral, our partnership with Arise Sleep Health allows us to streamline your path to a medical-grade diagnosis. We will assess your symptoms in-clinic and guide you through the booking process immediately.
How much does an at-home sleep study cost?
The at-home study is a cost-effective alternative to hospital-based testing. When you book your study through the Arise portal, you will be provided with clear pricing. In many cases, if you meet specific clinical criteria, a portion of the study may be eligible for a Medicare rebate, making professional diagnosis more accessible than ever.
Is the at-home device difficult to use?
The Arise diagnostic kit is designed for simplicity and comfort. It consists of small, lightweight sensors that you apply yourself before bed. Unlike hospital studies involving dozens of wires, this device is non-invasive and allows you to move freely and sleep in your preferred position, ensuring the data captured is a true representation of your typical night's rest.
What happens after I complete my sleep study?
Once you return the kit, your data is analyzed by independent, board-certified Sleep and Respiratory Physicians. They will issue a formal medical report. We then schedule a follow-up consultation at SO Dental to explain the results and, if necessary, begin the process of 3D-printing your custom oral appliance to treat the condition.
Can I use an oral appliance if I have missing teeth?
To successfully wear a Mandibular Advancement Splint (MAS), your mouth needs enough healthy teeth to anchor the device securely. Generally, we require patients to have at least six healthy lower teeth. During your initial consultation at SO Dental, we will perform a full dental assessment to ensure you are a suitable candidate for this specific treatment.
